Erm...who in their right mind buys access scrolls for 5K? I sold mine for 2K. I see plenty of people doing the same. Maybe if you took a look around you would be making more of a profit.

Oh, and btw, boo hoo! Change territories if it's such a big deal.

How many times have the flaws in this kind of statement been said?
1. Lets have all that wants favor go to the notoriously bad Euro servers and see what happens.
2. You get only for chances to switch servers.
3. Japan can't switch at all.
4. The suggestion is as bad as telling a strictly PVE person to go play HA.

At least make it so that all creatures in hard mode drop UW and FoW scrolls.

The Japan, Taiwan and Korean versions cannot switch territories.

The scrolls don't actually drop in the UW (Well they might be they certainly aren't limited there).

Since they drop from bosses and chests in Hardmode (Which i'd imagen is playable on the US servers). What's the problem? I fail to see why Europeans will be the ones finding all the scrolls.

I'd have to ask the farmer why they paid so much for it.

Favor changes hands via PvP which is player influenced, EU are winning more in HoH to hold favor. That can change on a day to day basis.

Now how about this for unfair, both promotional mini pets that were giving away to English language players (Gray Giant and Asura) came out in the US market months before Europe.

Giving the US players the chance to sell them for 100k+ by the time the EU market got them there value was what 15k? Personally i'd say that is more broken than the favor system, since the European players can't really do anything about that (Certainly not within the game it's self)

Where as if America wants favor all it has to do is win in HoH, granted it might not be that easy, but it's something you have control over.

I have no problem farming gold items, in fact i'm a European player and I haven't been in the UW for months and I have no problem making gold.

Also life isn't fair.

There is nothing whrong with the favour system. In this case you have to work for acess to fow and the likes, if Europeans PvP the most (and WIN the most, two diffrent things, just becauser you play often dousnt mean youre skilled enough to take on japanese/americans) then they deserve the majority of the favour. America wants favour?Well nothing is stopping them from fighting for it. Not good enough to win? Then Europe deserves the favour. Sorry but imho thats how it is and ment to be.

I don't believe the favour system has created diverse wealth margins between Europe and America or at least that's what I see.
Yeah I remember when America or Korea always had favour in their peak times (pretty much 10 hours straight each), there was never a thread on any forums about how bad the favour system was because of the simple reason that the Americans had favour and hence didn't complain.

How the tables have turned.

The favor system is the proof that even good game designers can make really bad designs and stick to them for no good reason whatsoever.

Ooooooh man, this thread is just going to go downhill. There are numerous logical faults I want to quote on but I've already done it a thousand times before. In a few pages this will most likely explode into another PvP vs. PvE thread.

The favor system is completely fine, imho. Dont have favor? Find a scroll (if you can) or wait. Its supposed to be set up that way.

Passage scrolls could perhaps drop a bit more often.

I've never liked the favor system since it is unfair to PvE players.

What if the reverse was true -- PvP players could do some form of PvP.., say they couldn't do GvG, unless enough American PvE teams cleared the Underworld to give them PvP favor? Lol.

And even as a PvE player, guess what happens if I want to try to join a HoH group to reclaim favor for America? I stand there for an hour due to rank discrimination.

Well, in that case, PvP players would have other PvP things they could do until they had favor, but it doesnt work that way. Instead, its simply PvE players can have access to most any area, but need to wait for regional favor to get into FoW and Underworld.

There's no reason to need to get into either, unless you are seeking the Forgemaster. To that end, I have some sympathy for regions like Korea and japan, and support passage scrolls being a tiny bit more common, or dynamic drops for them that when you dont have favor they drop a bit more often.

Anyone else wishing to go in is either looking to farm or explore. Its not like there are not other places to farm or that Underworld is all that great a place to farm anymore either. They dont count towards cartographer titles (which would be a pain if they did).

Can find a group of low or unranked PvE players to try and capture favor, but sure, the experienced PvP groups would do you in. Rank discrimination is unfortunate, but you cant get around the fact that experienced groups want experienced players if its a PUG. If you have low or no rank but wish to PvP you need to get into a PvP guild. I agree, I think this is a bit unfortunate because as a long-time PvE player I did wish to get into PvP a couple months ago, but am so far behind the curve PvP-wise that due to rank and inexperience its now simply too daunting and very unfriendly to new players. No getting around it though.

Since you can buy scrolls with Luxon or Kurzick faction to enter the elite areas in faction. Why not add a trader that takes Balthazar Faction as well for Underworld / FOW scrolls Say 5000k for a scroll?

Hey.

That actually sounds pretty solid. Win/win situation: You're getting your UW/FoW access and ANet is getting you to play PvP.

"Look what happened"? Some people like it, some don't. I think the favor system is cool. I never PvP and I still like the idea. Makes the UW/FoW & blessings special. I'd agree that they need to level it out for, say, Japan. But the US/Europe set up isn't THAT bad.

NO! That's the same god damn thing.

Break the damn tie to PvP...

If PvP were restricted like PvE is we'd never hear the end of it...don't give me "no they'd go do some other PvP." BS....they would complain to high heaven like they did with having to go into PvE to capture skills. Every major aspect of PvP that required some form of PvE has been removed...there is now one outstanding PvP requirement for PvE...favor...which we are asking be removed.

All PvE players are asking for is a PvE requirement to control favor on each character instead of the current PvP requirement. We don't want to PvP and should not be forced to do so (just like PvP players aren't required to play PvE) , we also don't want to have to rely on PvP matches to gain access to PvE areas. There is no equivalent restriction in PvP...if Favor isn't fixed then some sort of equivalent PvP restriction should be put in place.

I would be more than happy to win favor for my region, but because of my experience is primarily in GvG, everyone is like, "Show me your rank? Go away, noob." If it wasn't such a hassle to form a decent, competitive PUG, then I might actually have some rank. But as it stands, jumping into HA is like entering TA by yourself (to be put in a team RA style). Unless you're in a good guild (which also requires rank, by the way), you might as well just /resign while you're ahead.

And thus I still don't have rank, and probably never will.
